Nowadays, it is a bustling shopping street, but back then it was already a somewhat busier corner in the city center of Dordrecht. During World War II, many soldiers were quartered in Dordrecht. Therefore, the German military presence was a common sight in the streets. Many of these soldiers took pictures of the beautiful city center, much like tourists do today. The Voorstraat has changed little since the war.
