German funeral Essenhof

The funeral of a German soldier at the general cemetery in Dordrecht. In May 1940, construction began on a German war cemetery for fallen soldiers that fell during the events in may 1940. As the war progressed, more casualties were added to the cemetery. Ultimately, there were several hundred German graves at the general cemetery. The hall that we see clearly in both photos was frequently used for ceremonies. Nowadays, commemorations are held here, including those around May 4th and 5th. After the war, the German war graves were relocated to the Ysselsteyn war cemetery in Limburg.
