The NSB party house at the Wijnstraat.

In January 1933, the first local NSB group was established in Dordrecht. It initially fell under the Rotterdam district until it became independent in December 1933. The NSB did not become very prominent in Dordrecht. During the provincial elections in 1935, the NSB in Dordrecht only received 6.7% of the votes. However, the founding and presence of the NSB in Dordt occasionally led to disturbances. There were several skirmishes between the NSB and anti-fascist associations such as Antifo-Dordt and other leftist parties. At its peak, the NSB had about 2400 supporters in Dordt. Many cancelled their membership after the outbreak of the war. The total membership in 1945 was below 1000. The NSB circle house on Wijnstraat was located there until the summer of 1942, after which it moved to the corner of Johan and Cornelis de Wittstraat, but the building still stands there today.
