Bom Cronjéstraat

Damage to the buildings at the Cronjéstraat in Dordrecht as a result of the Allied bombing of Merwesteijn Park on October 24, 1944. The target of this bombing was the headquarters of the 15th German Army and the associated bunkers in the park. Not many Germans were hit, and certainly not the few hundred troops and dozens of generals and staff officers reported by the resistance. The surrounding Dordrecht homes were more heavily affected, as well as the civilian population. 69 Dordrecht residents died in the bombing.
