Tank on the Van Baerle Plantsoen

A German Panzer I tank with crew is driving towards the tunnel at the Van Baerleplantsoen. The photo was likely taken shortly after May 1940. The Panzer I was the first German tank to be mass-produced before the outbreak of World War II. Around1200 were produced between 1934 and 1936. By 1941, the tank was no longer in use. The Panzer I was a light tank armed with two MG13 machine guns. Its top speed was 37 km per hour.
