Jo Mussert at the town hall

As the Corps of Army Maritime Engineers had its garrison in Dordrecht, they were often involved in various parades and ceremonies in the city. It was not uncommon for the citizens of Dordrecht to see Dutch soldiers in the streets.

This photo was taken during the celebration of the 117th anniversary of the Corps of Army Maritime Engineers in 1939. We see Lieutenant-Colonel Mussert standing on the stairs. He is the man of short stature in the middle. He was the brother of NSB leader Anton Mussert. Mayor Bleeker stands to his left and is just taking off his hat.
