Barricades in the Willemstraat

A Dordrecht citizen passes the erected barricades in Willemstraat in Dordrecht. It was approximately here, near the cemetery, where on May 12, the German Gruppe de Boer formed for an attack towards the city center of Dordrecht. They became involved in heavy fighting with elements of the Light Division. This barricade had already been cleared by the Dutch, who were positioned further behind the railway. But in the early days of the war, this sector was still in Dutch hands.
